Is seeking God’s leadership in discovering our Associate Pastor of Worship who supports our core values, mission statement, vision, and various ministries.  This person must be gifted in leading blended congregational worship.   The Worship Pastor is also responsible for developing, assisting, and leading all programs of the church-related to worship.

The position of Associate Pastor of Worship at First Baptist Church Cantonment (FBCC) exists to support the overall ministry of FBCC in the worship of God, through music.  The Associate Pastor of Worship will be a spiritual leader who will lead the congregation, choir, praise team and band to use their voices and instruments to worship God.  The Associate Pastor of Worship is responsible to the Senior Pastor.  General personnel policies and guidelines that also apply are contained in the FBCC Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual.

  • Commit to positive relationships and communication with the Senior Pastor and other ministry staff leaders and secretarial staff.
  • Commit to positive relationships with deacons, church lay leadership, and general church family.
  • Gifted in leading blended congregational worship.
  • Skilled in choral, vocal, and instrumental direction.
  • Able to read music.
  • Organize, coordinate, communicate, implement, and evaluate total worship and Music Ministry.
  • A self-starter
  • A team player with a positive attitude.
  • Available for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services
  • Available for Choir and band practice.
  • Facilitate the budget of the entire Worship and Music Ministry.



  • Work with Media and audio leader in the use of technology in worship and in the use of sound, lighting, computers, Pro Presenter, Power Point, and video projection.
  • Ability to incorporate other art forms as needed.
  • Build the necessary teams to carry out the worship.
  • Plan the corporate worship services of FBCC in consultation with the Senior Pastor and do so with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness. 
  • Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service advance the theme for the day.
  • Maintain music library, materials, supplies, musical instruments and other sound equipment. 
  • Oversee song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists, vocalists, and dramatists.
  • Communicate the worship ministry schedule and orders of worship to the church Secretary for promotion (digital/print media).
  • Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in services.
  • Provide pastoral care for the worship teams and choirs.
  • Introduce our worship teams and choirs to worship training provided by other ministries, books, and conferences.
  • Plan major seasonal and/or outreach musicals/dramas when time allows.
  • As a part-time position, we understand our Worship Pastor will have another job he works alongside this one, and so the position is flexible and more about meeting the needs of the church family than “putting in the time.”
  • The Pastor of Worship is not expected to conduct funerals or wedding services that conflict with his work schedule.  Any compensation for these services will be between the Worship Pastor and the family making the request
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  • The Worship Pastor will be responsible for his own supply when he is out for any reason.
